ONE PARTICIPANT'S EXPERIENCE

Bringing a long practice into a new conversation.

Cristina Ombra is a psychotherapist from Italy. After more than thirty years of body-oriented psychotherapy and mindfulness practice, she came to zenschool to explore how Eastern and Western approaches might meet in her work.

A question she brought with her

Cristina joined the seven-month Zen Immersion with an interest in connecting therapeutic approaches, learning alongside Japanese and international colleagues, and stepping outside her familiar routines.

Her published account describes shared learning and a renewed awareness of her own personal and professional potential. These are her individual reflections; they do not predict what another participant will experience.

Learning across traditions

Her story offers a concrete example of the kind of inquiry zenschool makes room for: how a person's experience, work and values relate to one another. It belongs to the seven-month Zen Immersion and is not a testimonial for either short retreat.
